The Hunt For Ben Solo Fan Campaign is a fan collective dedicated to getting Disney to reconsider greenlighting the film, The Hunt For Ben Solo, an endeavor initially presented to Disney leadership by Steven Soderbergh and Adam Driver. (Soderbergh has since stepped away from the project.) Acting as polite disrupters, we make noise as means of showing The Walt Disney Company that this "axed" film not only has value, but also a built-in audience waiting with money in hand.

We've had everything from multiple billboards in Times Square to a worldwide missing poster campaign that started right outside of The Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. Through determination and perseverance, our grassroots, boots on the ground efforts have taken Ben's missing poster across 6 continents and 15 translations. No matter your level of love for Star Wars, we hope you'll join our efforts and community as we work toward seeing Ben Solo's return in theaters.

On October 20, 2025, Adam Driver shocked Star Wars fans in an interview with the Associated Press; in it, he revealed a secret project in the works for two years, a Ben Solo movie, but the endeavor was promptly disregarded by Disney. According to a post made by Steven Soderbergh, this was the first time The Walt Disney Company had turned down a Star Wars pitch with a fully developed script; it also included a design sprint by Bobby McKenna.

Originally Kathleen Kennedy, then CEO of Lucasfilm, had approached Driver with the idea. After formulating a concept, Driver went to Soderbergh to develop a script; they went on to hire screenwriter, Scott Z. Burns, who was paid more than any other screenwriter for a Star Wars script in Lucasfilm history, according to The Playlist. Despite Lucasfilm giving the project a stamp of approval, it was ultimately Disney executives, then CEO Bob Iger and Chairman né Co-Chair of Disney Entertainment Alan Bergman, who passed on the project, stating they could not understand how Ben Solo could still be alive after Episode IX.

Many have seen Star Wars posts accompanied by a blue butterfly. Ben Solo, in particular, has been associated with those same winged creatures since the release of the animated short series, "Star Wars: Roll Out".

In "Star Wars: Roll Out", the story follows Han and Ben Solo on a mission where Ben releases the trapped critters. Although the series is not considered canon, the motif of butterfly was here to stay. The logo for Bluesky was inspired by the multitude of posts using the blue butterfly emoji.

Blue butterflies have also been used to represent the Force in a Darth Vader comic written by Charles Soule and illustrated by Giuseppe Camuncoli as well as with Grogu in the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.
